Members of Freewheeling's 'Creating the Spectacle!' team were recently invited to attend an event to celebrate Osprey Leisure Centre becoming the recipient of the first British Airways One Destination Carbon Neutral Fund.

The Fund, supported by the generosity of British Airways customers, is helping the Osprey Leisure Centre install a 10kW solar photovoltaic system that will go towards reducing the amount of energy, and therefore cost, currently used to heat and operate the pool. A particularly impressive part of the project that really chimes with Freewheeling's motto of the 'best for everyone' is that a proportion of sales back to the national grid will go back to the Carbon Neutral Fund to support future projects. This makes the venture truly innovative and sustainable.

A plaque marking the achievements of the project was unveiled by Olympic champion Ben Ainslie who later gave an insightful account of his preparations for the 2012 Games.

It was a great opportunity to let people know how much we appreciate the support and enthusiasm of everybody at Osprey Leisure Centre whilst also being able to share some sneeky looks at the rushes from filming in Egypt before the real editing begins! We got some great responses from people at the event for our video wall which will be uploaded in the near future.
